Marian Devotions and Servite Saints and Blesseds

As we journey through June, the Servite Family is invited to reflect on lives shaped by humility, prayer, and devotion to Mary. These holy witnesses guide us in living faithfully and serving generously today.

St. Juliana of Florence

A woman of conversion and devotion, Juliana embraced a life of penance and prayer. She joined the Servite friars in the Divine Office and is remembered for her deep love of the Eucharist and Mary. She is honored as a model for Servite women and Secular Servants.

Blessed Thomas of Orvieto

A humble lay brother, known for his simplicity and charity. His trust in God’s providence and daily acts of love offered a living example of Gospel humility.

Three Reflection Questions

There are no specific Marian feasts listed in June in our Prayerbook. Yet in every act of service and prayer, Mary’s spirit of humility and love is reflected in the lives of the saints and blesseds we commemorate.

These lives, simple and faithful, invite us to consider how we, too, are called to serve God and others with quiet dedication in a restless world.

  1. In the midst of a busy and distracted world, how can I cultivate a heart like St. Juliana’s—devoted to prayer, attentive to the Eucharist, and open to conversion?
  2. How am I being called, like Bl. Thomas of Orvieto, to live humility and charity in small, unseen ways that make God’s love visible to others?
  3. Where might I deepen my Marian spirit this month, not only through formal devotions, but through a daily attitude of openness, service, and joy?
Closing Prayer

May the example of the Servite saints and blesseds inspire us to walk gently, love deeply, and serve faithfully in the spirit of Our Lady.

“May our Lady protect us and guide us on the way of life.”
Amen.
